This project was first envisioned when Mahvash was invited to set lyrics written by her friend and lyricist, Joel Newman, to music. Mahvash and composer / producer Eric Stein, collaborated on the music, and with Mahvash's soothing and expressive voice, Joel's romantic and passionate lyrics, and Eric’s keen ability to weave the melodic and lyrical threads together, three new songs emerged. These songs explore a fresh concept for Mahvash's voice in that the lyrics are in English, and Eric’s arrangements bring into play the expressive and emotional mood of a solo violin. From the recollection of love found and lost in “The Moonlight Came Down” to the affirmation of a vow acknowledged in “A Promise”, to the sultry tango feel in “We Are Not Connected”, this song collection is certain to appeal to Mahvash’s current fans and her new ones as well.
